PROGRAM SCHEDULE 2012
February 10 - RAFFLE.  Helminia Schenck will present "Twister Quilts" She'll bring examples and show us how to use the Twister Ruler to make beautiful wall hangings or larger quilts that family and friends will ask "How did she do that?"
February 24 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
March 9 – Members bring green and white /shamrocks/luck quilts to show.  BOM is the 12-inch finished Four Leaf Clover block from Quilters Cache.  Susan Olds will present "History of Quilting 1800's to Present" The history of quilting in America is an extremely rich tradition spanning two centuries. Art historian, Susan Olds, presents a slide lecture covering the enormous variation of quilt types made popular by early American quilters. The development of American quilt styles will be traced from the appliquéd coverlets of the early 18th century to contemporary pieced, appliquéd and art quilts.
Learn about the various types of quilts, including commemorative, friendship, crazy, mosaic, charm and album quilts, as well as the different techniques used in quilt construction. The various uses of quilts as well as the connections between quilters and their communities will
be examined through 19th century pioneer quilts and the traditions of Amish,
African-American, Hawaiian and Appalachian quilt making.

April 13 - RAFFLE. Members bring red and white/Valentine/heart quilts to show.  Arlette Wentz will present “3-D Trees”  
April 27 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
May 11 -  Members bring Spring/Easter/new life/baby animals/eggs/bunnies/chicks quilts to show. Cheryl Tolbert will present “Convergence Quilts”  
May 25 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
June 8 - RAFFLE. Members bring red, white, and blue /patriotic quilts to show. Pat Hahn will present "Rug Hooking"
June 22 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
July 13 - Summer Potluck/Summer 2012  Past IQ presidents bring President Quilts to show.
July 27 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
August 10 - RAFFLE  Members bring summer/vacation/ swimming/boating quilts. Charity Program. What can you create with 1/2 square triangle and 4-Patches?
August 24 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
September 14 -  Members bring Back to School quilts to show. Program soon to be announced.

October 12 - RAFFLE. Members bring Halloween quilts to show. Kay Moore will present "New Dimensions; Combining Machine Embroidery and Quilting".
October 26 - Baby Corner Workshop and Basting meeting
November 9 – Members bring Thanksgiving/harvest/ bounty quilts to show. Program soon to be announced.
December 14 - Christmas Potluck. Winter 2012 Quilt winner announced. Members bring Christmas quilts to show.
